Quote of the evening

Although I shouldn't laugh and I thought a lot before posting, here we go. I will set the stage for you. My RAD shoved a rock the size of I dont know...Delaware all the way to his ear drum to the point of rupture. He did not rupture it but came close. That's not the funny part. The funny part is taking a RAD to the hospital and then to the specialist when you are trying to downplay the event. Last time doctors and nurses made a big deal my RAD went over the top. Down play is key! This moment however, I did not expect. So here is what was said:

Doctor and Nurse in triage room. Doctor tried to get the rock
out several ways, no dice.

Doc: "Sorry kiddo we need to send you to another hospital I
can’t get the rock out."

RAD: "Oh no we have to go to the hospital for the kids that try
to kill their mommy? Mom I did not try to kill you today!"
*sob*

Doc and nurse’s mouths drop to the floor.

Me: No sweetheart we don’t have to go to that hospital today

Doc and nurse’s mouths slowly resume normal position.

Doc: (with shocked expression) "Uh, No kid just sending you to a
specialist to get the rock removed. Don’t try to kill your mom
please."

  1. Okay.. that if rip roaring funny! I would have loved to see the doc and nurses faces and yours with a calm "...of course he thinks that!" look.

I am sorry, but thanking youfor the laugh in the same breath.

    Peace

  2. Ok, yah. I laughed out loud, too. :-)

It's moments like this...moments that are so stinking NORMAL to us are so...so...so...NOT normal and even repulsive to other people. It's moments like this that make me remember that I have no idea how truly "normal" people live anymore and how warped my brain has really become. And yah, I would loved to have seen their faces as well. I usually just shrug my shoulders and smile sweetly at the abhored these days.

  3. Yeah, I have to admit that I laughed. Not being a RAD Mom myself, my jaw would have definitely dropped to the floor along with the docs and nurses. And of course, after reading your blog, I now understand the "normal-ness" of this. But I couldn't help but chuckle a little.

  4. Now that's priceless! Good thing you recorded it on the blog, though I doubt you'll ever forget it!
